Milestones that shaped us

1978

The foundation of a noble vision

Thakershy Charitable Trust was established on 2nd December 1978, founded by Shri Navnitbhai Thakershy with the vision of providing healthcare support to people from all sections of society. The trust was named after his father, Shri Thakershybhai Lallubhai Shah.

1980

A step towards building the future

A 2,400 square-yard plot was contributed by the Shri Jethalal Amrutlal Patel Public Charitable Trust, facilitated by Advocate Shri Indravadan M. Nanavati — laying the literal foundation for the hospital to come.

1983

Establishment of the charitable hospital

On 15th May 1983, the charitable hospital was launched in Ahmedabad, opening its doors to provide affordable, dignified care to the community.

2000

A new identity for greater service

The hospital was renamed "Sushri Jasumatiben S. Surti Charitable General Hospital", reflecting its growing role and commitment to the people it serves.

2020

Serving humanity in challenging times

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital established multiple care centres to support patients and the wider community when it was needed most.

2023

Building the future of healthcare

New expansion initiatives strengthened our infrastructure and broadened the range of specialised services available to patients.

2025

J S Hospital revamp — redefining patient care

A comprehensive revamp brought improved infrastructure and a renewed focus on patient experience, carrying our founding vision proudly into the future.
